New Zealand: Facebook has removed 1.5 million videos on the massacre

"During the first 24 hours, we removed 1.5 million videos of the attack in the world, of which 1.2 million were blocked during the download."said the head of the company, Mia Garlick, in a series of tweets, after the live broadcast of the mbadacre of 50 Muslims.

"Out of respect for the people affected by this tragedy and the concerns of local authorities, we are also removing edited versions of the video that do not have graphic content," he said.

"We continue to work day and night to remove this content, using a combination of technology and staff," Garlick said.

Facebook was at the center of the controversy Friday because he could not stop the video as the author of the mbadacre, Brenton Tarrant, aired live for 17 minutes.
