Next Wednesday, all health workers will be vaccinated

Governor Omar Gutiérrez announced that between this Saturday and Sunday new shipments of vaccines against Covid-19. There will be 6,300 vaccines Sinopharm (from China) and 6,000 Sputnik V vaccines (Russia), with which – he said – between Tuesday and next Wednesday “all health personnel will be vaccinated” with the first dose.

In dialogue with LU5, the governor indicated that with the arrival of these new vaccines, Neuquén will have vaccinated 40,300 Neuquén and Neuquén, which represents 25% of the target population established at the start of the vaccination campaign. “We hope to vaccinate the 180,000 people who make up this target population in May, before the cold winter to come”, he claimed.

The first 6,000 new doses of Sputnik V vaccine will begin to be placed next Monday and recipients will be adults and people aged 70 and over.

On the other hand, the 6,300 vaccines developed by Sinopharm in collaboration with the Laboratory of the Chinese Biological Products Institute in Beijing will be applied as follows: 2,800 will be intended for health personnel, 2,000 for teachers and 1,500 for people under 60. years with disability and associated comorbidities.

“Between Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, health personnel will be fully vaccinated, both in the public and private sectors of the province,” Gutiérrez said, while specifying that with the continuity of vaccination to the education sector “20% of teachers will be vaccinated.”

“The vaccines come from the people for the people, and the team that has been put together is great. I’m not saying it, people are saying it, “said the provincial president, stressing that Neuquén is one of the top three provinces” that quickly and nimbly applies vaccines, in a process that in turn is territorial, because the vaccine is everywhere ”.

Regarding the people who still need to be vaccinated, Gutiérrez mentioned that there are 36,000 people registered, for whom “we have to manage 6 batches of 6000 vaccines to vaccinate people aged 60 and over, so that when winter arrives, they have the first doses applied “.
