As part of what the European Union had proposed in Venezuela to convene presidential elections, Maduro launched "We will not deliver to Venezuela, we accept no one's ultimatums". However, he also stated that he was not refusing to call them, but only in 2024.
Asked about Juan Guaidó, president of the opposition, he said that "it's a self-proclaimed joke, it has no constitutional basis". To these statements, he added "there is only one president and he is not empowered to badume the highest office of the country". In conclusion, the Venezuelan leader declared that "only the people choose and that only the people eliminate".
