The Nicolás Maduro regime and the Venezuelan opposition will begin negotiations this Friday in Mexico in order to seek a common solution to the crisis facing this Caribbean country., as confirmed this Thursday by the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Relations (SRE) of Mexico indicated that this Friday afternoon will be “the inauguration of the process of negotiation and dialogue of Venezuela”.

Explained that At the request of affected parties, strict health and safety protocols will be followed between media representatives attending the dialogue due to the pandemic.

In addition, he recalled that to enter the meeting place it will be mandatory to wear personal protective equipment (face masks).

On August 5, the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, announced that the country would host negotiations between the regime of Nicolás Maduro and the Venezuelan opposition due to the crisis in that country.

And this Thursday, the Mexican Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard, said in a brief message that the parties participating in the dialogue on Venezuela were in the “final phase of their exploratory talks”. to start the dialogue.

GUAIDÓ’S PROPOSAL

The Leader of the Opposition Juan Guaidó is the one who launched the dialogue proposal last May, although he will not participate in the negotiations in person, and neither does dictator Nicolás Maduro, both have sent their representatives.

On behalf of the anti-Chavist opposition will be the Venezuelan opponent and former deputy Stalin González, of the Un Nuevo Tiempo training, which seeks in this meeting to “fight for spaces of democracy” and to debate, reconcile and build solutions to “the complex humanitarian emergency that we are experiencing”.

Close to Juan Guaidó and general secretary of the Primero Justicia (PJ) party – of which the leader Henrique Capriles is a member – will be Tomás Guanipa, who, after his appointment as another of the negotiating delegates, said he would “make every effort to make this process useful for the freedom of Venezuelans.”

Jorge Rodríguez will be present on behalf of the Venezuelan regime, President of the Chavist Parliament and head of the delegation, and Héctor Rodriguez, governor of the central state of Miranda.

This Thursday, the dictator of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said his son, MP Nicolás Maduro Guerra, will also be part of the delegation of the regime that will travel to Mexico to dialogue with the opposition.

When leader Juan Guaidó was sworn in as interim president in 2019 after years of fruitless negotiations, Mexico, along with other countries in the region like Uruguay, were among the few to bet on the dialogue for achieve a consensual solution to the crisis.
