Authorities of the National Police have delivered 107 people arrested for causing chaos and terror on Saturday in Managua, to Apostolic Nuncio Waldemar Stanislaw Sommertag.
The detainees were also received by Nicaragua's Human Rights Procurator, Ms. Corina Centeno, and by members of the Nicaragua's Truth, Justice and Peace Commission.
Although the authorities were not allowed to carry out activities threatening the safety of families, a group of alleged protesters tried to wreak chaos in Managua, mainly in the area of the road that leads to Masaya.
The detainees were handed over in perfect conditions to the representative of the Vatican in Nicaragua and the corresponding authorities.

In the afternoon of Saturday, March 16, despite the formal warnings of the National Police about an unauthorized activity that disrupted public order, commercial activity and the Weekend citizens, groups of people went out on the street. they violated public order.
The national police complied with its constitutional function of safeguarding the security and rights of citizenship and was forced to capture 107 people, who were transferred to the Directorate of Legal Aid.
Faced with the efforts of the Apostolic Nuncio, representative of His Holiness Pope Francis in Nicaragua, the National Police released these people, in the presence of Mr. Nuncio, Bishop Waldemar Stanislaw Sommertag; Ms. Corina Centeno, Nicaragua Human Rights Attorney, and members of the Truth, Justice and Peace Commission of Nicaragua.
The national police will continue to fulfill its constitutional function of guaranteeing life, property and citizens' right to tranquility and well-being.
