Old woman wakes up just before being cremated after ‘dying’ by Covid | the Chronicle

Shakuntala Gaikwad is a 76-year-old woman from the town of Mudhalea (Baramati state) to whom her family gave for dead after seeing that she had stopped breathing. The old woman caught Covid in early May and as a result she was isolated in her room.

After a few days, her condition worsened, so that on May 10, she was taken to Baramati hospital. However, she remained in the car while waiting to see if she could be treated and have a bed, due to the sharp increase in cases in India. But, when his relatives returned to the car, They saw that he was unconscious and had stopped breathing and believed he was dead.

Back home, they got everything ready for the funeral and cremation as instructed India today. But, as everyone mourned his loss and his coffin was about to be burned, Gaikwad woke up and started to cry too.

The completely shocked family took the woman to Baramati Silver Jubilee Hospital, where she was finally admitted and is currently receiving special treatment, as reported by the doctor Sadanand, founder of the said medical center.
