On video was recorded the corruption of a driver to a traffic officer in Buenaventura

Two people, a man and a woman, were denounced while committing an act of corruption in Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, this Sunday, February 14. The driver of a private car, which apparently operated as a private transport service, He offered money to a traffic cop to avoid a subpoena and the officer accepted the bribe. Those involved were not relying on one of the passengers filming the entire scene.

In the video, which is already circulating on social networks, we see how the agent talks with the driver and gives him back his ID. At that time, the woman takes advantage and He leans on the car window with one of his hands inside the vehicle and the man quietly hands him the ticket. “Do it, they take care,” he tells the driver, once he gets the money. He continues with his hand inside the car for a few seconds, takes the money and sends it back.

The staff of the Buenaventura Transit Secretariat are already aware of the situation and make sure that the action will have legal consequences.

“It has criminal and disciplinary connotations. It is a crime classified in the norm as corruption, ”said Walter Steven Mora, director of the municipal internal disciplinary control office.

It was reported that another traffic policeman was present at the time of the crime, but an investigation is underway to find out if this person is also involved. Although the fact is clarified, officials they were suspended from their duties for three months. In addition, the two are due to appear at a hearing this week to determine whether they will be removed from their posts.

A similar situation happened a month ago, when a man attempted to bribe an officer in the San José de la Colorada terminal area of ​​the Department of Tolima, on the road from Melgar to Bogotá. The difference is that on this occasion, the police officer did not allow himself to be corrupted and, on the contrary, captured the civilian.

The moment was captured by a hidden camera carried by the man in uniform. In the video, you hear a response to a concern about a driver’s license or a passenger license. “Lieutenant, that’s cool because I approved it in November,” the subject says.

Subsequently, the officer informs him that he will proceed with the examination of a summons against him although he did not mention, in what the video records, the offense committed by the driver. A few seconds later, the traffic officer mentions that he is committing illegal transport and that he will stop the vehicle in addition to imposing a subpoena.

When he heard this, the man replied: “No, my lieutenant is not like that, see yours is going, okay, yes?”, And hands him the case of the car papers with it. a 50,000 peso bill inside.

Seeing this, the officer asks him: “What is my thing?” To which the delinquent insists: “There, there in the newspapers, that is why I passed it to him like that aside. Help me, my lieutenant ”. In view of this, the policeman asks him if he is referring to the folded 50,000 peso bill and the man confirms that he is.

Immediately, the policeman refuses to receive the money and informs him that he is going to be taken for the crime of bribery for giving or offering, as he offers the money in exchange for his omission.
