One dead and 100 injured in train accident in Barcelona

At least one person died and about 100 were injured in a frontal collision between two trains Friday afternoon outside Barcelona (Spain), the Directorate General of Civil Protection of Catalonia announced.

The accident occurred after one of the trains left the railway between the towns of Sant Vicenç de Castellet and Manresa. Emergency services have already come to the scene to help those affected.

The service on the R4 line between the towns of Terrbada and Manresa was interrupted after the accident.
