One woman died and 29 people were intoxicated after eating at a distinguished restaurant in Spain.

The local Riff, from German leader Bernd Knoller, closed its doors until further notice due to the poisoning of 29 people and a dead woman.

The The Valencia Riff restaurant is one of the most famous in Spain and has a Michelin star, the prestigious distinction of the gastronomic world. In addition, it is known for its dishes based on seafood, molluscs, seaweeds and marine plants of the Mediterranean.

However, a few days ago, 29 people suffered some kind of poisoning in the premises, one of which died in few hours.

The deadly victim is María Jesús Fernández Calvo, 46, who went to celebrate her husband's birthday with her 12-year-old son. After leaving the premises, all three had vomiting and discomfort, although only the woman went into cardiac arrest in the early hours of Sunday and died.

The German leader, Bernd Knoller, has closed his doors until further notice. The Ministry of Health of the Generalitat Valenciana has opened an investigation to determine the causes of collective intoxication. The inspectors interviewed the guests and samples of the different meals were taken.

In a statement, the restaurant announced having closed until the causes of poisoning were clarified. "I made the decision that the restaurant remains closed until the causes of what happened are established and can resume the activity with all the guarantees offered to staff and to all the clients."Bernd Knoller says.
