Only four countries have today reported more cases than Argentina in the world

The rebound in infections of coronavirus who recorded today the Argentina, who reached the record 20,870 newly infected, has placed the country among the first places in the world in absolute number of daily cases recorded in the last 24 hours, as measured in real time by the Worldometer website.

As of today, the country with the most officially registered cases was the India, with 115,269, followed by Brazil, with 86,979 (according to the count of the National Council of Health Secretariats); Turkey, with 49,584, and the United States, with 48,967. After Argentina, it is Iran, with 17,430.

Meanwhile, Latin America has overtaken the 800,000 deaths due to Covid-19 at a time when vaccination is progressing unevenly in the region.

With over 804,000 deaths (in over 25.3 million infections), Latin America is the second region hardest hit by the coronavirus, behind Europe (974,318 dead), according to AFP’s count from official sources.
