Oral trial against Julio De Vido and Ricardo Jaime begins for freight trains

The two former employees of Cristina Kirchner's management will sit on the bench of orders for the purchase of unusable rolling stock in Spain and Portugal.

The Federal Court of Justice (TOF) 6 will start today Oral trial against Julio De Vido, former inmate of Kirchnerist (Former Minister of the Federal Plan) and Ricardo Jaime (former Secretary of Transport) for the purchase of Rail equipment scrap in Spain and Portugal.

The the case will be judged jointly with four other: one for fraud in the purchase of spare parts for the Belgrano Cargas, one for the illicit enrichment of Jaime and two others for embezzlement. TOF 6 is integrated by Judges Julio Panelo, José Martínez Sobrino and Fernando Canero.

Ex-officers are the main accused of train-related cases while the illicit enrichment and embezzlement cases concern only the former Secretary of Transportation and people from their environment.

The judge Julian Ercolini took the case to a millionaire railway equipment unusable in Spain and Portugal in 2017 after having determined that De Vido was designed and executed between July 2004 and March 2012, "A modernization plan for the railway which has determined a patrimonial damage to the public administration".

More problems for De Vido: they asked that the cause of the special trains be judged

Ricardo Jaime, For its part, will be tried for illicit enrichment in the context of a case in which other defendants will also be brought to trial as alleged avant-garde, including his partner Silvia Reyss, his former adviser Manuel Vázquez and his son Julián.

The purchase of rolling stock in Spain resulted in the payment of 76 313 108 million euros for 1,040 cars, vans and locomotives, units which, in very rare cases, were able to circulate. In the case of Portugal, the company was acquired "Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses" double diesel units, spare parts, locomotives, wagons in different agreements for about 25 million euros.
