The Swedish Academy has distinguished the Polish writer Olga Tokarczuk and the Austrian author Peter Handke with him Nobel Prize of Literature. Tokarczuk received the 2018 Nobel Prize for "a narrative imagination that, with his encyclopaedic passion, represents the crossing of borders as a way of life." Handke they emphasize it "for an influential work which, with linguistic ingenuity, explored the periphery and the specificity of the human experience".
