Peru: at least 15 dead before the fall of a wall in a hotel where they were celebrating a wedding – 27/01/2019

A hotel wall collapsed this Saturday night during a wedding in Abancay, Apurimac. The accident killed at least 15 people and wounded 34. The head of the Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci), Jorge Chávez, said in RPP that the fact is due to heavy rains in the area.

In addition, he said work is underway to remove debris who left the accident at the Alhambra hotel to save the missing persons.

"We are talking about 100 people who attended the wedding. However, the people who were attached to this wall were 50. As a result, there were 34 wounded and 14 dead

He also said that relatives of those affected should go to the corresponding health centers so that can identify their loved ones.
