Pharmaceutical company Pfizer’s 100,000 coronavirus vaccines have arrived

On an international flight, other 100,000 doses vaccines from the North American laboratory Pfizer, as established in the calendar presented by the national government at the beginning of March.

According to information provided by the Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic (DAPRE), at the end of March, Colombia will have 600,000 vaccines of 10 millions acquired from this laboratory in 2020.

From this week 100,000 will arrive on the 17th, 24th and 31st of the month.

These doses will be assigned to the medical staff of first and second stage to guarantee the second application and be able to be vaccinated to reach the goal of 1 million vaccinated by March 17.

To reach this goal, 683,921 people must be vaccinated. The country reached 316,079, or 0.67% of the population.

What is coming: Sinovac will bring 802,128 doses before March 18; while thanks to the Covax mechanism, the Astrazeneca laboratory will provide 244.00 doses for March 31st.

According to the report presented by Víctor Muñoz, director of the administrative department of the Presidency of the Republic, the country has received 4 shipments of vaccines from the North American laboratory.

The official presented the updated schedule on his Twitter account, with the following text:

We work every day on how to improve the arrival times of Covid-19 vaccines in Colombia and thus increase the speed of vaccination. To date, we have already received 509,000 doses, as of March 31, we will have more than 3.4 million in the country.

Each of the next 100,000 shipments will go to so-called front-line staff and elderly people who have priority in the national immunization plan.

Acquired at Modern laboratory: 10 million doses for 5 million people

Until March 9, the ranking of vaccines received in the subcontinent was led by Brazil and closed by Paraguay.

The figure presented for Colombia corresponds to the Pfizer expedition which arrived on the morning of March 10.
