A man discovered he had a leaf knife inside his torso 14 months after being stabbed, according to what the victim herself told local media.
The victim was assaulted by a group of teenagers in the town of Kidapawan, Philippines
Kent Ryan Tomao was brought in January 2020 to a hospital after being attacked by criminals and medical personnel, sutured the wound immediately.
However, the doctors chose not to take an x-ray to check for any remains in her body.
Finally, the 25-year-old Filipino realized the alleged malpractice when he attended a March 23 hospital for x-ray testing.
This x-ray was part of some previous exams to apply for a new job in the province of Agusan del Sur.
“I always wondered why I felt pain in my chest when it was cold, but I had no idea there was still a knife,” Tomao commented.
“The doctor said it had to be removed immediately because the knife is close to the lungs, it’s dangerous,” Tomao told local media.
The Filipino said he hoped to return to the same health center in Kidapawan to have the knife removed.
He also added that he would not take any legal action against the hospital or the doctors who treated him, despite any negligence they showed in treating him.
Now the victim claims that the injury sometimes hurts, but simply ignores it. However, he asks that the hospital where he was treated for the first time, they organize the care of his patients.
Regardless of what happened, the young Filipino turned out not to be mean.
