It happened in a desert in Utah, United States.
Photographer and filmmaker James Cawley captured with his camera two strange objects moving at high speed in the sky while filming the sunset in the Moab region of Utah, United States.
With the release this month of the long-awaited U.S. government report on Unidentified Flying Objects, rumors surrounding UFOs are at an all-time high. While the report’s initial findings do not say these unexplained sightings are of extraterrestrial origin, the government also does not rule out the possibility.

“The most obvious hypothesis would be that they were insects or birds”Cawley said PetaPixel. “I’ve seen a lot of them fly against the light this way over the years. What made me question these objects was the speed. Since I had an ND filter enabled, the shutter speed of the video is 1 / 60th of a second and my drone was less than 200 feet above me when I saw them pass. I turned to see them flying above the horizon behind me and shone like metal in the sun“.
Other ideas have been suggested on social media, such as a racing ball or drone. A bullet seems almost impossible because the average bullet travels too fast to be captured by a camera like the photographer’s.
“I didn’t hear anything,” he said. “It was fairly quiet there, as is often the case in remote areas of Moab. If it was bullets, he should have heard a gunshot echoing through the red rocks. If they were drones, I probably would have heard them buzzing as they were less than 60 meters above me“.
Cawley says it’s not the first strange thing he sees in this remote desert region of Utah.

“As a producer and director of a creative agency working closely with Utah Tourism, I have already posted other weird things on my Instagram account. The desert is a strange and unique place, that’s one of the reasons I love it so much. I went to the top of Mesa on summer nights, where you can see the stars moving due to thermal distortions in the canyons below, creating a magnifying effect, ”he says.
“I was happy when I started editing and noticed it showed up in the images I captured,” he recalls.
Regardless of the correct answer, mistakes, bullets, drones or aliens, this video shows what fits the definition of UFOs perfectly: UFO.
