The woman and child were inside a van and were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital. As Pembroke Pines fire chief Marcel Rodríguez confirmed, the boy died Monday evening from serious injuries.
Federal Aviation Administration investigators said the Beechcraft-type plane was forced to turn around towards North Perry Airport shortly after takeoff. The accident occurred after a power line was cut.

Moments after the crash, the plane caught fire, spreading a ribbon of fire on the sidewalk.
“It was like a bomb exploding,” he told the Sentinel of the Sun Anabel Fernández, whose Ring camera captured the fatal crash. “I’m always afraid to be here, my family and I see planes flying very low as we pass through the neighborhood or sometimes when we are in the pool.”
North Perry Airport serves private and charter flights and has four runways, the longest measuring 3,350 feet. In the past 10 months, there have been five crashes near the airport, four of which were fatal, with a total of five fatalities.
