Anti-riot agents opened fire on protesters and parishioners demonstrating in front of Managua Cathedral on Friday after completing Viacrucis. Some nine patrols went on the spot to suppress the demonstration.
Protesters were posted in the west sector shouting slogans and waving flags. However, the agents arrived a few minutes later. A girl was hit by stun bombs launched by Ortega police.

Officers monitored protesters and parishioners and prevented them from leaving the religious center. Max Jerez, a member of the Civic Alliance for Justice and Democracy, arrived at the scene to inform the demonstrators of the coordination of his departure from the Cathedral of Managua.
The Ortega regime is not sacred. He even attacked peaceful protesters and religious people during #Good Friday. Such desperate attempts to maintain power expose the hypocrisy and weakness of Ortega before claiming freedom of expression. # Nicaragua.

It was also learned that the Apostolic Nuncio, Stanislaw Waldemar Sommertag, had managed with the police the departure of citizens.
"They can go out without problem," said Commissioner General Fernando Borge, second chief of Managua, who presented himself at the cathedral. While young people rejected the presence of the police and shouted "Vendepatria, Asesinos".

Viva Nicaragua Free! It is the cry of thousands of faithful Catholics of Managua that this Good Friday participates in penitential viacrucis. The image of Jesus crucified is accompanied by the Catholic flag and the blue and white of the homeland.
The religious activity that recalls the martyrdom of Jesus is presided over by the Cardinal and Archbishop of Managua, Leopoldo Brenes, and his archiepiscopal clergy. Groups of people, mostly young, carry huge flags in the colors of their homeland. The procession took place without incident or harbadment by Orteguista police or paramilitaries of the Ortega regime.
Viva Nicaragua Libre, the faithful Catholics cry with one voice. Many also wear crosses as a sign of mourning. Today we are celebrating a year in Nicaragua with civic demonstrations against dictator Daniel Ortega. He responded with bullets.
