Political scientist Gloria Álvarez has been nominated as presidential candidate for Guatemala

"I present to you the first campaign 100% libertarian and ecological, without advertising pollution, without fences, without mupis, without aids, without scenarios, without financing of the traffic of drugs or companies." So began Gloria Álvarez his video of more than ten minutes, in which he announced his candidacy for the presidency of Guatemala.

The 34-year-old political scientist, a fierce critic of populism, said his government program would include ten actions: "Five are not negotiable and five others that you choose according to your will".

Facing the elections that will take place next June, Álvarez badured that he does not need to sell his soul "neither to narco nor to the businessman to advertise". He also said that he did not need to "make visual pollution" by covering the country's streets with his face.

"If a murderer, a bachelor, a socialist, a thief and an actor have agreed to be president of Guatemala, perhaps a graduate in international relations and political science, with a postgraduate degree in economic development and who presented his ideas on international platforms without being a public official, also have charging opportunities "he maintained.

Article 185 of the Constitution, which states that to be president of the nation, one must be over 40 years old, is an obstacle that could be overcome by the young political scientist. It also proposes to eliminate the 15 secretariats of the executive body and reduce from 14 to 4 departments. "The flat tax will be implemented and the state will be maintained with identical taxes for all Guatemalans, such as VAT," he added.

However, he stressed that the "priority" of his government would be "Security and justice": "At least 50 cents of each quetzal we pay in taxes will be destined for this purpose, in order to guarantee justice, insofar as a crime is committed, until it is solved, in the goal of eliminating 11 violent deaths a day in the country and 22 private property thefts perpetrated by 22 citizens extortionate every day.With 50 cents of each Quetzal, the salaries of the policemen will be worthy and he it will not be so easy to bribe them, to have first world prisons, instead of mareros universities ".

The measures that people will choose

Álvarez warned that he would open an online poll so that his supporters could vote on the other five actions that will be part of his government program.

These measures are: the legalization of the blank and null vote, by means of which it will be annulled and this election with a blank or no vote of 30% must be renewed; elimination of the national list to choose the deputies. In this proposal, the political scientist proposes that citizens vote directly with their parliamentarians.

Álvarez also launched her candidacy via Instagram, where she badured that she would be the president of a "free and sovereign Guatemala".
