Pope Francis expressed his "concern" about the current situation in Chile and called for the "end of violent demonstrations" and, through dialogue, "in search of solutions to the crisis".

"I remain concerned about what is happening in Chile," said the pontiff, greeting the Spanish-speaking faithful at Wednesday's general audience in Plaza San Pedro.
