Pope Francis to pray to the Angelus on Sunday from his hospital room in Rome where he is hospitalized, reports the Vatican this Friday.
The 84-year-old pontiff who he had colon surgery on Sunday, is recovering, has no fever, has walked the corridor of the hospital and resumed his work, alternating with moments of reading, added in his daily part the spokesman of the Pope Matteo Bruni.
“Next Sunday, the Angelus is to be recited from the 10th floor of the ‘A. Gemelli ‘”said Bruni.
This is not the first time that a pontiff has celebrated Sunday prayers from this Roman hospital, where John Paul II was hospitalized several times for his health problems.
Francisco is in the same room on the tenth floor of the Gemelli Hospital used by the Pope Juan Pablo II after the attack he suffered in 1981 and his operation for a colon tumor in 1992.
The hospital, which the Polish pontiff humorously called Vatican III because of the many hospitalizations he suffered, has a small chapel on the tenth floor.
On Sunday July 26, 1992, John Paul II prayed to the Angelus from the hall and at the end of the Sunday meditation, he leaned out the window to greet the many faithful who had gathered in front of the hospital.
It was not clear whether Francisco will also greet worshipers from the window.
According to the official Vatican website, John Paul II celebrated Sunday prayers again at this hospital in 1996 and 2005, a month before his death, when he managed to look, despite Parkinson’s disease, behind the windows. from his room.
