The event took place in Seberi, a municipality in Rio Grande do Sul, 110 kilometers from the border with El Soberbio. A Chevrolet Vectra driven by the 38-year-old woman residing on Roque Saenz Peña Avenue in Posadas, who was traveling with her 5-year-old daughter, was probably used as a "screen" to avoid road checks.
During a routine check on the city's BR-386Al state road, uniformed police officers asked for the car's papers and, by that time, they noticed some tension in the woman. They therefore invited her to park at the shoulder and carried out a thorough inspection of the car. The woman was allowed to drive the vehicle also settled in Posadas on behalf of another person.
There, the Brazilian authorities discovered a cargo of marijuana bricks concealed in the floor of the vehicle and in the rear bumper. The weighing of the testimony of the expert resulted in a total of 100 kilograms. The minor was transferred to the Seberi Guardian Council until the arrival of the detainee's relatives, who brought her back to Posadas.
The driver was arrested and sentenced to fifteen years' imprisonment. Brazilian justice is currently investigating the link with the owner of the car that he was driving.
