Homophobic messages, fake anti-vaccine news and praise for Augusto Pinochet. This combo is the result of the trip to the cell phone of the president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro: this Wednesday the local press disclosed some messages that the president sent to different people around him.

According to the messages to which journalist Paulo Cappelli had access, the president assured that the Pfizer vaccine, distributed in certain states, “I would kill young people. ” “Youth dying with Pfizer” was one of the phrases he sent through the messaging app. Another of the texts read: “Risks – we must investigate! Young people die of cardiac arrest”, accompanied by a video which also includes the caption “Bolsonaro is right”.

These messages were sent by the far-right president on the same day that the government backtracked and decided to allow vaccination against the coronavirus in adolescents, a measure that had been advised against the previous week by the Ministry of Health.

One of the main lines of work of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (ICC) in relation to the coronavirus concerns the delay in the federal government’s purchase of the Pfizer vaccine. According to information gathered so far, the Ministry of Health has left 86 emails sent by the pharmaceutical company unanswered.

Six days ago, Bolsonaro, who was denounced by the International Criminal Court (ICC) as a “denier” of the coronavirus pandemic and stimulating crowds, revealed that his wife Michelle had been vaccinated in the United States, this which drew him a wave of criticism from politicians and health workers who called the fact “absurd” and “contempt” to the country’s public health.

Praise to Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet

Last Thursday, Bolsonaro also posted a video of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet. In the chat, he added that if the left returned to power, Brazil would face a “worrying fate”.

“When Chileans see what communism is, when they understand the tricks, the deception, how they cheat, they will realize that this government is right,” Pinochet says in the video which includes footage from recent protests in Chile .

Messages sent from the same number also include such homophobes. For example, last Monday he shared mocking content that shows people apparently protesting the rights of the LGBT community by burning a Brazilian flag.

Likewise, last Sunday at dawn, Bolsonaro sent a video in which the musician Rogério Skylab recounts having had homosexual relations without considering himself to be gay. “I’ve done it three times already, but I’m straight,” the artist said. The President continued: “Up to three times you can.”

Against Lula da Silva

Bolsonaro also criticized former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and China. On Wednesday, the president sent his contacts a video with the inscription: “Lula has been bribed to lie to the world that China is an example”.

The video shows the leader of the Workers’ Party (PT) claiming that the Asian giant is “an example of development for the world” and, at the same time, dead dogs being sold as food, as well as a child being beaten by a supposed teacher inside the classroom.

According to a survey by the Ipsos cabinet published by the magazine Veja in early July, Lula holds 58% of the voting intentions for the 2022 presidential election, and is followed by Bolsonaro with 25%. Blank and spoiled ballots represent 13 percent, and those who are undecided or did not respond 4 percent.
