September is the first month in more than a year in which the year-to-year measures of registered private employment fell in line with real wages, which lost against a 9.6% rise in prices.
This is the first decrease since February 2017 and represented 0.6%, which represents approximately 35,600 less registered workers. The sector with the largest decline was manufacturing, at -3.6%, compared with the mining sector, which grew by 5.1%.
The data come from the Argentine Integrated Retirement System (SIPA) and have been disseminated by the newspaper La Nación.
Similarly, the report states that the main workers who lost their jobs are the self-employed (0.5%) and employees (0.3%).
