The president of the United States, Donald Trump, and his wife Melania will perform a state visit to the United Kingdom from June 3 to 5, Buckingham Palace, official residence of Queen Elizabeth ii.

"This is an opportunity to strengthen our already close relationship," said Tuesday.
"I am proud that the United Kingdom welcomes representatives of the Allied nations to commemorate the sacrifice and recognize the extraordinary cooperation that made the Normandy landings possible," he added.
Leaders from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Poland, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Greece, Slovakia and the Czech Republic were also invited to the celebration.

The last time a North American president made a official visit The United Kingdom was in 2011, when Democrat Barack Obama accepted the British monarch's invitation.
