The coronavirus has also come to infect the language thanks to the tenth update of the Historical Dictionary of the Spanish Language.

Other recently added terms related to the pandemic are: coronaplauso “, which identifies synchronized applause to thank the work of essential workers;” coronaboda “, which refers to a marriage celebrated during the coronavirus pandemic; coronabebé, ”which names a baby born during the coronavirus pandemic, among others.

With these memberships, the Historical Dictionary of the Spanish Language added a total of 6,325 published articles.
