Since 2012, the
The Center for Global Rankings in Universities (CWUR), an organization based in the United Arab Emirates that is dedicated to providing advice to governments and universities, publishes a ranking in which it commissions the best universities in the world.

As last year, Argentina has three of the top 1,000 universities:
University of Buenos Aires
(UBA) is in position 344, the
National University of La Plata (UNLP) in 495 and the
National University of Córdoba (UNC) in 854.

The bad news is that the three universities have fallen back from last year's rankings: the UBA had 293, the UNLP in 545 and the UNC in 762.

Among the top ten universities in the world, there are eight American universities and two English universities. The top three are Harvard, Mbadachusetts and Stanford, all from the United States. Cambridge and Oxford are then in the United Kingdom.
