Record meat: 75% of what is exported goes to China

Every four kilograms of beef exported, three are going in China, which accounts for 75% of total sales. The record was revealed by a report of the Chamber of Industry and Trade in Meat and Derivatives of the Argentine Republic (CICCRA) in April 2019 regarding shipment data targeting only one destination. According to the report, Russia bought frozen beef for 4628 tonnes in weight, 53.6% less than in January-April 2018, Revenues dropped to $ 15.3 million, 57.9% lower than the level recorded in January-April last year. In this case, the average price fell by 9.4% per year to $ 3,312 per tonne.

The Netherlands acquired 3802 tonnes in weight of Argentine beef during the first four months of the year. These shipments totaled US $ 40.3 million, 12.7% lower than in the first quarter of last year. The average price was $ 10,597 per tonne.
