Removal of ecstasy by a millionaire in Madrid and open investigation in Córdoba

A cargo of more than 20 liters of Ecstasy destined to be admitted to Argentina was seized at the Barajas airport in Madrid, as part of a joint operation of the Argentine and Spanish security forces, in which two Argentineans were arrested, reported today sources. from the Ministry of Security.

The seized substance amounts to 340,000 doses of ecstasy worth 150 million pesos, the spokesmen added.

The procedure took place in the last hours and was the result of an investigation opened last July between the personnel of the Airport Security Police (PSA) and the General Directorate of Customs (DGA) of the federal administration. Public Revenue (AFIP) collaborated with the Spanish National Police.

One of the Argentine defendants was arrested at the Barajas airport, while the other was in a building in the city of Buenos Aires, sources said.

The case began last July at Ingeniero Ambrosio Taravella International Airport in Córdoba, during customs checks of passengers on flight LA ​​7817 from Chile, from Spain. There, an Argentine citizen tried to enter the country with a bottle of nutritional supplements whose product raises doubts by not matching the details of the etiquette. In its place were small red stars with a hole in the middle of a small dimension.

Field drug testing was negative, but the substance was retained and the passenger released. Airport agencies immediately requested a laboratory test, the result confirming that it was more than 40,000 doses of LSD of maximum purity.

For this reason, the PSA began to investigate more specifically the man who had moved her and thus discovered that she had gone to Argentina with another person accused of being a part from an organization dedicated to drug trafficking in the city of Buenos Aires.

In addition, after carrying out other monitoring and surveillance tasks, the investigations established that this other man accompanying him was going to Spain this month to acquire MDMA (due to the abbreviation of its chemical name, 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine). , also known as Ecstasy, and entering Argentina illegally, added the sources.

On the strength of this information, the Federal Public Prosecutor 1 of Córdoba ordered the deployment of international actions, in collaboration with the National Police of Spain, whose agents determined that the detainee was presently in Madrid, where he had made contact with the suppliers of the substance. .

Therefore, when sending their luggage to the Madrid airport, the Spanish authorities carried out a comprehensive check of the contents of their suitcase, in which they had placed four dark bottles containing 20 liters of MDMA. about 340,000 doses, worth 150 million pesos, the sources added.

The man was arrested on the spot and put at the disposal of the Federal Court 1 of Córdoba by Ricardo Bustos Fierro, who will take the corresponding measures to advance his procedural situation.

Moreover, spokesmen added that after arrest in Madrid, the PSA had raided two houses in the federal capital and arrested the man who tried last July. to enter LSD in Cordoba from Chile.

In addition, they seized 12 marijuana plants, 254 matrices and tablets of MDMA, cocaine, a digital scale, 149,000 pesos and $ 10,610, as well as other items of interest to the cause, have specified informants.
