Resident Evil 2 is named the best game of the E3 2018

The Game Critics Awards announced the winners of the event E3 2018. Capcom won the most important award Best of the show thanks to Resident Evil 2. Four games shared the distinction of obtaining two honors: Anthem and Marvel's Spider-Man with two awards; and Cyberpunk 2077 and The Last of Us Part 2 with two mentions

The other featured games were the Dreams of Media Molecule for the best original game, Spider-Man for the best console game, Tetris for the best VR game / AR and Hymn for Best PC Game The very popular Fortnite won the Best Current Game award. Kingdom Hearts 3, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Forza Horizon 4 and FIFA 19 have won awards for their respective genres, among others

Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima have won special mentions for their graphics. The second part of The Last of Us has also been praised for its sound, and Cyberpunk has earned another recognition for its innovation.

For studios, Sony Interactive Entertainment received the most awards with six in total, followed by Electronic Arts. with four and Microsoft with three. On the platforms, the PlayStation 4 took the day with 17 total prizes, followed by Xbox One with 12 and PC with 10. Nintendo Switch won only four

The new Resident Evil 2, released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 25, 2019, is completely rebuilt with more realistic images, a remastered sound, a new camera on the shoulder and modernized controls. The original was released on the PlayStation in 1998.

With a budget of five million dollars, Resident Evil 2 quickly became the best-selling video game in the United States in 1998. Only in the week-end end after its launch, sold 380,000 units and raised $ 19 million, surpbading the revenues of almost all the movies of the moment and breaking the sales records previously established by Final Fantasy VII and Super Mario 64. With 4.96 million Sold copies, the PlayStation version of Resident Evil 2 has been a commercial success and is the best-selling game of the franchise on a single platform. Until 2015, more than six million video game units had been sold worldwide.

The original PlayStation edition has been hailed by the press and is still considered one of the best video games in history.
