Jarrott’s immediately exits the car and stands by the passenger door of the truck, posing as “Darrian Jarrott’s, New Mexico State Police Officer” and asking the suspect to roll down the window.
Faced with the driver’s refusal to open the window or the door, the policeman insisted on the fact that he must search the vehicle, and invited him to go to the patrol car to take his personal data. The entire footage can be viewed from two cameras: one mounted on the rover and the other on the officer’s uniform.
Finally, after a few minutes of insistence, the owner of the truck agrees to exit by opening the driver’s door.
It was then that he took a large caliber machine gun and shot the officer without a word, just behind the Chevrolet truck. The crude sequence of the crime and the murderer’s subsequent escape on Interstate 10 were recorded on police cameras. Jarrott’s body lay by the side of the road with no vital activity.
The murderer, who in the video is recorded as Omar Félix Cueva, 39, was later shot dead in a shootout with police and died.
