New scientific discovery signals the end of the pandemic.
This time, microbiologists at the prestigious Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology in Moscow reported a new form of immunity.
It is a dose against Covid-19 that is not injected, but administered through the nasal route.
As is known, in Gamaleya the first registered vaccine against the coronavirus, Sputnik V.
Now, scientists are developing a new vaccine against the coronavirus in the form of nasal drops that will have no side effects such as fever or headache.
Center director Alexnder Guntsburg says the nasal medication does not produce “those unwanted phenomena which now appear in the form of headaches or possible temperature increases.” He explained that this type of vaccine is “for local use” and therefore “does not cause systemic reactions in the form of fever,” in a note to RIA Novosti.
The Gamaleya Center has also developed a vaccine renewal mechanism to adapt it to new and future strains. “If it offers the same protective effect, but already against a new strain, mass production can be started immediately,” Guntsburg said.
