Russia is living its worst hours of the pandemic: with 968 deaths, it once again recorded a record of daily deaths from COVID-19

Russia today recorded a new death record from COVID-19 with 968 deaths in the last day, the highest since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, reported the operational center for the fight against this infectious disease.

In Moscow 70 patients died and in St. Petersburg 61.

Regarding registration, the country has reported 215,453 deaths from COVID-19, although official statistics on excess usual deaths in the same period tripled this figure.

In parallel, Russians’ reluctance to get vaccinated remains, which thwarted the government’s plans to vaccinate 60% of the Russian population before the end of the year. So far, only 44.96 million Russians, or 30.8% of the population, have received the full directive., according to the portal Gogov.

The Minister of Health of Russia, Mijail Murashko, reported on Monday that 1.8 million Russians received a third booster dose.

The head of health indicated that “only 2% of vaccinees get sick”, For which the vast majority of patients admitted to hospitals with COVID-19 had not been vaccinated.
