Russia recorded 828 coronavirus deaths in 24 hours, the highest daily figure since the start of the pandemic

Russia reported 828 deaths from COVID-19 on Friday in the past day, the highest number of deaths from this infectious disease since the start of the pandemic, according to data from health authorities.

The highest death toll was recorded in Saint PETERSBOURG, where they died 59 patients in the last 24 hours, while 56 people died in Moscow, two more than Thursday.

In total they died 202,273 people for COVID-19 in Russia since the start of the pandemic, although official statistics on excessive deaths have tripled that figure.

In turn, on the last day, the number of new infections exceeded the 21,000.

have been diagnosed 21,379 positive cases of coronavirus, of which 1,749 (8.2%) were asymptomatic.

In Moscow, the main focus of the pandemic in the country, they have been detected in the last 24 hours 2,893 cases, 552 less than Thursday.

Likewise, health authorities have indicated that 15,823 people were released in the past day, bringing the total to 6,574,608, while 1,254,083 people are under observation as suspected cases., according to the National Office for Consumer Protection (Rospotrebnadzor).

Since the start of the pandemic in Russia, they have been informed 7,376,374 coronavirus cases, which makes it fourth country with the most infections in the world, behind the United States, Brazil, India and the United Kingdom.
