Murashko and the head of the UN health agency met in Geneva to discuss this authorization for the drug used massively in more than 70 countries.

“Russia’s position on the promotion and registration of the Sputnik V vaccine has been heard, we have eliminated all questions,” the minister said according to the Interfax news agency.

In this sense, he declared that the company which deals with the registration of Sputnik V with the WHO “You have to sign documents and submit others.”

He also granted this permission to those of Chinese descent from Sinovac (called CoronaVac) and Sinopharm.

The WHO emergency use list is a prerequisite for the supply of Covax, the mechanism created to close the gap in access to inoculants, and facilitates the inclusion of the vaccine among those requested by countries to allow international travel.

It also allows countries to speed up their own regulatory approval to import and administer Covid-19 vaccines.
