He also noted that the drug would provide a level of protection against the coronavirus of up to 85%, unlike Sputnik V, which was over 90% effective.
This information was confirmed by President Vladimir Putin himself after his annual press conference on Thursday, as reported on BBC.
The president noted that the Gamaleya research center, which created Sputnik V, was working on a “light vaccine” with a single dose and a shorter period of antibody production against Covid-19.
It would only require one dose and the level of protection would be less, but it would still reach 85%. “On the other hand, it will be possible to earn tens of millions at once,” said the Russian leader.
