Sales by wholesalers and shopping centers collapsed by 15% in September and accumulated for three months down

The economic crisis and declining wages are having an increasing impact on supermarket sales and purchases. In large shopping centers, such as in wholesale self-service, the decline in activity already reached both numbers.

According to various reports published by Indec, the amount of sales in supermarkets decreased by 7.9% in September, so that accumulated three consecutive months of low.

In the case of purchases, sales decreased by 15%, the biggest fall since 2002. To the same extent, wholesale self-service billing has decreased, revealed the Indec.

The report details the evolution of sales in the stores of Buenos Aires, on the one hand, and those of Greater Buenos Aires, on the other hand. This results in a much lower sales decline in the conurbano centers of Buenos Aires where, despite growth of 8% at constant prices, billing dropped by more than 30%.
