A court in the Mexican city of Tlalnepantla, in the State of Mexico, sentenced a womanor force his 9-year-old daughter to beg.
According to the local press, citing the Attorney General of the State of Mexico, the eight-year-old and eight-month sentence pbaded on María de los Ángeles Vela Almazán would be linked to human trafficking in the form of begging.
The prosecution determined that Vela Almazán had forced her daughter to beg on the streets of the city of Atizapán in Zaragoza (State of Mexico) from January 2017 to April of the same year. The youngest lived in the state of Tamaulipas, but since January 2017, she lives with her mother in Atizapán. The girl ran away because of the mistreatment she inflicted on her mother and because she forced him to beg.
Last November, Vela Almazán she had already been sentenced to 33 years and 9 months in prison for forcing her 13-year-old daughter into prostitution. The woman was arrested in mid-2017 and admitted to Tlalnepantla Prison.
The woman will also have to pay a fine of 1.93 million Mexican pesos (about $ 101,000) as compensation for the harm done to her daughters. In addition, their rights have been suspended.
