Given the imminent resumption of classes in the coming days, the Ministry of Public Instruction (SEP) has published an agreement in which it sets the most important points for the 2021-2022 school year.

This agreement was presented with the aim of complying with the study plans and processes for the different levels of education, in addition to developing certain guidelines, which were published in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF).

In order to take care of and preserve the integrity of minors when they return to class, the SEP recalled what are the most important points, without letter of commitment which has caused controversy in the past.

What are the guidelines?

1.- Integrate participatory health committees in schools with parents and teachers in order to follow the protocols for entering schools.

2.- Sanitary filters, these must be placed from the house, at the entrance to the school and before entering the classroom.

3.- Constant hand washing with soap and water.

4.- Compulsory use of face masks for children or young people, as well as for administrative staff, teachers and directors.

5.- Maintain a healthy distance of 1.5 meters.

6.- Use open spaces more frequently such as: courtyards, patios, among other outdoor spaces.

7.- No civil ceremonies or meetings.

8.-Report immediately in case of suspected or confirmed case of COVID 19.

9.- Register for socio-emotional support courses online with the SEP-Salud “safe return” for teachers.

A few days ago, Delfina Gómez, assured that the return to school is something “imminent”.

“For the sake of our children and young people, the return must take place on August 30,” he said during the traditional “morning” conference chaired by the president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, every day.

In addition, he recalled that educational institutions are like a second home for children, therefore, according to Delfina, they will be able to attend face-to-face and on a voluntary basis, because “students must have a friendly environment and good space to socialize. They need shelter to reduce the stress they may have undergone during the long months of the pandemic. “

And it is that “it is raining, thunder or lightning” the minors will have to resume face-to-face lessons this month, as assured by the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, during his traditional “morning “conference a few days ago.

In this sense, the little ones have for the moment only 12 working days to take advantage of it, since they will have to resume their activities from next Monday, August 30.

From the start of the school year (August 30) and until Friday September 10, assessments will be carried out on the students, with the aim of detecting lag problems.

Then, from Monday September 13 to November 23, remedial courses will be offered to students who need it.

In the meantime, it should be remembered that the 2021-2022 school calendar marks at least seven days without lessons corresponding to vacations and public holidays.

Parents and students will also be able to follow registrations and re-registrations, which will take place from Monday August 16 to Friday September 10.
