WIMBLEDON, England – In the battle of the mums, Serena Williams ruled with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Russian qualifier Evgeniya Rodina on Monday

. Williams, 36, a 10-month-old mother of Olympia, won her 13th Wimbledon quarterfinal victory

. She marks her first Grand Slam quarterfinal since she's won her 24th Grand Slam trophy at the 2017 Australian Open.

It took Williams, who seemed even stronger. close to first-rate form, only 62 minutes to secure victory in a straight line. She served 10 aces, hit 30 winners and only gave up her serve once in the match.

Williams lost his serve in the sixth game of the second set to allow Rodina, mom to Anna, 5, a 4- 2 lead. That would be the last game that Rodina would win at Wimbledon this year

"I'm a perfectionist, so I always find something wrong," Williams said in an interview with the BBC. "She can really hit the ball, that's why she's so far away."

The win over Rodina gave Williams the victory of his 90th career game at Wimbledon. Williams, who has been Wimbledon's seven-time champion, has only lost 10 games since her first participation here in 1998.

Williams plays with a protected standings from No. 1, where she was located when she was in the lead. she took a maternity leave after 2017 Open from Australia. She is currently ranked 81st, but will be in the top 100 after Rodina's victory on the fourth lap.

If Williams wins an eighth Wimbledon title later this week, she is expected to return to the top 20

Overall, Williams has won eight grbad titles, all here at the All England Club. In addition to the seven Wimbledon titles, she also won the 2012 Olympic gold medal.

In the quarterfinals, Williams will face Camila Giorgi, of Italy, who beat Ekaterina Makarova 6-3 and 6-4

. This is the first time Giorgi has reached a quarterfinal Grand Slam. It was his third participation in the fourth round of the Grand Slam.
