What for many is still science fiction, is already presented today as a tangible and concrete reality. What is it about? Of sex robots, that is, artificial humanoids who can even speak and know? to their partners. Then we tell you how do they work and what are some of the dangers they can generate.
There are some in both sexes, for both men and women. They have the appearance of a normal person, not only with height and dimensions of the body, but also with weight and genitals.
Anyone can buy them, although their price makes them less accessible: they cost around 10 thousand dollars.
Unlike other sex toys, like an inflatable doll, these robots have artificial intelligence, something that allows them to say a few sentences, to express emotions ?? and even react to intercourse with moans of pleasure.
This same artificial brain is used to configure the personalities of robots, as well as their responses at the time of relationships, which is evidenced by facial expressions such as the movement of the eyes, mouth and head.
The Xataka portal highlights the case of Brick Dollbanger, a 60-year-old man from California, USA, who, under a pseudonym, agreed to share his experiences with Harmony, one of the dolls designed by the company RealDoll.
“Any user who purchases this product is going to have an amazing experience,” he said, while noting that the doll’s sexual responses are “extremely realistic”.
As obvious as it may sound, it is impossible to deny that one of the main dangers that these sex robots can cause is psychological character and it refers to the need that every human being has to be in contact with others, to interact and to make connections.
In turn, Dr Christine Hendren pointed out to the BBC that some of these robots can be programmed to reproduce rape scenarios. In this regard, he recalled that in Japan, sex dolls in the form of girls are produced, designed for pedophiles.
On the other hand, in recent days, a new alarm signal has placed these sex robots at the center of the controversy. In a conversation with Daily Star magazine, cybersecurity expert Rick Patterson said these dolls are susceptible to hacking.
As pointed out in El Español, the argument is based on the fact that robots need interfaces and software to function. Because of this, not only can they be hacked, but they can be manipulated by experts in the field without the robot user having the slightest suspicion.
Among the worst scenarios is the possibility of being murdered by these robots. As stated by Patterson himself, these dolls can beat their owners during sex and even take knives and use them.
It remains to be analyzed what is the degree of possibility that these types of scenarios will occur but, for the moment, there has been no concrete event to date.
