26-year-old Angelica Dhondup still wore it dress of the bride when her life was cut short just five hours after she said yes to her husband. The woman had decided to go home to leave wedding gifts and then head back to her party, when an apparently drunk driver crashed into the vehicle she was traveling in.

According to local media reports, the crash happened around 1 a.m. Saturday in Salt Lake City, United States. The woman was less than two kilometers from the scene and made a final call to her sister, seconds after the accident.

“He called her and told her specifically that she had been in an accident. That she was badly injured and couldn’t breathe,” said Tayler Craft, the victim’s best friend. Her cousin at the wheel was much more fortunate: she was taken to the hospital and released.
