Despite its complicated state, there were "small achievements that did not make us give up," says Jacqueline, in dialogue with Clarín. The current diagnosis of Demian is hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Several doctors have recommended traveling to Cuba, where treatment is provided in specialized centers for neurological rehabilitation, which would help the child to control his involuntary movements and to talk again. "We already have contacts with Cuban professionals, the goal is to travel as quickly as possible," said Jacqueline.
