Shooting in a synagogue in the United States: one dead and three wounded

At least one person died and three others were injured today when a man broke into a synagogue in Poway, near San Diego, California, where worshipers were preparing to celebrate Pbadover. . The aggressor was arrested by security forces.

The shooting had initially left four injured, but Poway Mayor Steve Vaus then confirmed that one of them had died.

According to Vais, the act could have constituted a hate-motivated crime "because of statements made at the entry of the shooter into the synagogue," reported the EFE news agency.

"A man was arrested to interrogate him about the shooting in the Poway synagogue," Sheriff Bill Gore said in a message posted on his Twitter account.

The events took place at 11:30 local time (15:30 Argentina time), half an hour after the start of a ceremony for Pbadover.

Poway is a small town of 50,000 people located 30 kilometers north of San Diego (Southern California), on the border with Mexico. The synagogue is located at 16000 block of Chabad Way, Poway.

The attack took place six months after the murder of an armed man in a synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as part of the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in US history.

After the local closed at 2:30 pm, US President Donald Trump addressed the media in the White House Garden to express their "deep solidarity with those affected."

"We are investigating at this point it seems like a hate crime," Trump said before leaving for Wisconsin to attend a political meeting.
