Sicario murders a businessman at the door of a house in Bogotá

As a Bogotá businessman parked his truck in a parking lot in front of a house, a hitman shot him, killing him. The events last took place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday February 16 in the neighborhood of Villa del Río, in Bosa, to the south of the city. In a video captured by a security camera, the shocking moment was recorded.

In the audiovisual room, the victim is seen exiting a black Kia Sportage on his way to the house to open the door to the house. At this moment, across the street, a man in a black T-shirt and red cap approaches who without thinking shoots him repeatedly as the man tries to flee in a failed attempt that leaves him on the dying ground. Then a woman and a man leave the building to help the man and the offender escapes.

The video shows a motorbike pulling up in the middle of the street, apparently waiting for the hitman who doesn’t see it, so the driver of that vehicle turns and sets off after him. The deceased was transported to Kennedy Hospital where he ultimately died. Forensic units of the Technical Investigation Body (CTI) of the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation were present at the hospital to begin the investigation of the facts and transfer the body to forensic medicine.

National Police Director of Citizen Security Gen. Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Cortés told El Tiempo that between January 1 and February 16, there were 1,614 homicides in the country, 439 of which were for revenge presumed. During that same period of 2020, there were 414 cases, which represents an increase of 6%, says El Tiempo.

But of this total, 917 are due to acts of intolerance, Antioquia, Cali, Bogotá, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Sucre and Cúcuta being the most affected regions.

Contract killers were the second type of murder in Bogotá last year, with 257 cases.
