Sputnik V: vaccinated people do not transmit the virus when infected – Radioinforme 3

The head of the Laboratory of the mechanisms of the variability of populations of pathogenic microorganisms of the Gamaleya Center, Vladimir Gushchin, told a congress that “Those who received the two doses of the vaccine, in case of illness, have a 14 times lower risk of suffering from it in a moderate and severe way.”

He also indicated that in case of infection, vaccinated persons “do not emit viable virus and, therefore, they are not a source of danger to others“, published the site RT.

The Sputnik V vaccine uses human adenovirus technology from two different vectors, Ad26 and Ad5, which are applied in two injections, to be administered 21 days apart.

This solution does not contain live human adenoviruses, but adenoviral vectors which do not multiply and are completely harmless to health.

The drug has so far been licensed in 66 countries with a total population of over 3.2 billion people.

As reported on April 19 by the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Sputnik V has an efficiency of 97.6%, after analyzing data from 3.8 million Russian citizens vaccinated.
