Sri Lanka has again been shaken by terrorism with three new explosive attacks, this time in the city of Kalmunai. This has been confirmed by army sources from this country.

According to News 1st, the explosions were recorded as the armed forces participated in a shootout with a suspect linked to the terrorist attacks perpetrated on Easter Sunday.

There were six explosions that rocked churches and luxury hotels in various cities of Sri Lanka, as the country's Christian population celebrated Easter Mbad.

The attacks claimed the lives of more than 250 people and the country's police are looking for 140 people suspected of having links with ISIS, who have claimed responsibility for the attacks.

After the attacks last Sunday, the Catholic Church of Sri Lanka decided to cancel all Mbades this weekend because they were always the target of extremists linked to the group "radical Islamic State (IS)".

Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, Bishop of Colombo, explained that the decision responded to a security document revealing that Catholic and other beliefs are an important target for attackers.

"We do not want rehearsals"said Ranjith and urged the faithful to stay home for their own safety, CNN reported. In the country, the Christian minority represents 7% of the 21 million inhabitants of the country.
