Strong earthquake in Greece: buildings injured and damaged – News

According to the Athens Geodynamic Observatory, at least five lines magnitudes between 3.4 and 5.7 were felt within the next hour.

“It was a very strong earthquake. The steeples of the two churches were badly damaged. The houses in Damasi are old and there is damage,” a resident of Larisa told a local radio station.

The quake was also felt in the capitals of neighboring countries such as North Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro.

Greece is crossed by major geological faults and earthquakes are frequent, especially at sea, and most do not cause casualties.
