Sweden: at least eight injured in an armed attack …

According to information gathered by the local press, this Wednesday at three in the afternoon, man in his 20s attacked several people with a knife in Bangardsgatan neighborhood. Police spokeswoman Angelica Israelsson said there were two “seriously” injured.

Security forces shot at the alleged perpetrator, who was shot in one of his legs and was transferred to a health center. For the moment, his state of health is not known.

The authorities, who carried out a surveillance operation in the hospital, called the event an “attempted assassination” and indicated that a “suspected terrorist crime” was under investigation. However, Israelsson noted that “the motive is not yet clear” because the man “has not yet been interviewed.”

For its part, Swedish intelligence services consider terrorist threat high. The country has suffered two attacks in recent years.
