Takeoff laid off 200 employees, including 80 in Argentina

Despegar Travel Company announced that it had laid off 200 employees of its 3,500 regional employees (including 80 employees of its Argentine subsidiary) following a restructuring related to a change in the global tourism industry and to a consolidation after the acquisition of Viajes Falabella, which meant the incorporation of 800 employees.

In the Argentine subsidiary, with 1,500 employees, 80 have been disconnected, according to the newspaper Clarin, who pointed out that sources close to the company attributed this adjustment to a change influenced by technology, customer service, packages and personalized travel.
